Topic : Grace for the Journey Text: Zechariah 4:7 Who art thou, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, grace, grace unto it.
We are on a journey to the Kingdom of God. As Christians, we all are on a pilgrimage. We are visitors on this planet earth. No matter how long we stay in this world and whatever our goal is, we need to understand that the earth is not our permanent place. We are going on a journey to our heavenly home. And only grace will help us along that journey.
The mountain became plain by shouting the word “Grace”.Zerubbabel had a vision of building the temple of God with different challenges, he encountered various oppositions and problems so grave that building the same seemed and couldn’t be possible. Whatever your position in life, no matter how holy you may be, facing a mountain is somehow inevitable.
There will always be times of encounters, confronting mountains in the journey, climbing up, and eventually you get weary. For this challenge, grace is highly needed.
Your mountain might be some oppositions, family troubles, lack of desire to succeed, disappointments in people’s help, carrying of heavy loads, unfinished education or missing career goals, burdens on children, husband or wife even though you are a faithful servant of God. Yet, you are not exempted from facing mountains.
To overcome these mountains, one has to obtain the Grace of God, only from God alone. It is a high requisite in this journey of life. Those who rely on their own ability can never reach their goal to succeed. If you don’t know how to use grace, you may not be able to get the right solution to a certain situation.
It takes Grace to enter God’s kingdom. Ephesians 2:8 – For it is by Grace, you have been saved. It is by grace that we can become who we are in Christ Jesus. By grace, Zerubbabel was able to build the temple of God . God’s grace alone is the solution to life’s concerns today. In the Old Testament, Moses bore too much with the Israelites and asked God’s grace to be shown to Him.
Apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament, cried to God about bearing too many burdens in his ministry’s journey but was told by God that His strength is sufficient for him.
To follow GOD in the journey of life, Grace becomes essential. As long as we are still living, the battle remains. No matter how good you are, how well you study the Word of God,
Grace is still needed. Do not condemn yourself. Do not get hold of the words of people . Just understand that Grace will help you and I through, to uphold us, to sustain and preserve us, to be able to stand.
The enemy we are fighting is older than our grandparents, many of whom were pulled down by the enemy, but those who carried the Grace of God couldn’t be pulled down by the enemy – Satan’s agent.
Value the grace of God that you may receive what others have struggled to get from God, that you may enjoy the favor which you didn’t desire or even expect, that you may get promoted while others do not.
Grace will make a way for you even if the door has been shut. Grace from God that you are enjoying while others aren’t.Those who believe and trust in His grace shall be rewarded.
How to obtain the Grace from God?
Never see yourself with your ability making you successful. Success is all by the grace of God.
Appear at the throne of God’s grace with praise and worship, praying and listening to His message through preaching. Find the grace at HIS throne, for it produces what you need.
Be connected to the leaders who are full of grace. The more you pray and connect yourself to Him, the more you will tap into His Grace. The laying on of God’s ministers’ hands and their prayer of intercession, there will be certain moments that God will put an end to your struggles.
